Humane Society of Putnam County Offers Microchip Clinic

The Humane Society of Putnam County will be offering the residents of Putnam County a low-cost procedure to put a microchip on your dog Saturday August 8th. It will only cost you $10 with no limit to the amount of dogs you can microchip. For those unfamiliar with the microchip it is used to identify your furry friend if they were lost and taken to an animal shelter. All the employees of the animal shelters have to do is scan the dog where the rice sized microchip was implanted and find get your contact information. From there they would call and notify you that they found your dog. The dogs must have their rabies vaccinations and proof of the vaccinations must be provided. The dog must also be on a non-retractable leash in order to receive the microchip.
