Joe Elwood Miller, 70, of Brazil, passed away at his home, August 12, 2014 following an extended illness.
Mr. Miller was born September 27, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Joe Eugene and Barbara Louise (Henson) Miller. He served his country in the United States Army for 2 years before receiving an honorable discharge in 1964. Joe worked as an auto body repairman at several body shops in Indianapolis where they lived for many years. After returning to Brazil in 1989 he worked at Buck Rhodes Ford until retiring.
He married Terry Lee (Oldenburg) on September 26, 1964. He enjoyed restoring vintage cars, listening to Rock and Roll Music and fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed going for Sunday drives with his wife in their 1965 Chevy Impala Super Sport which he restored.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Barbara Miller and a sister Vicki Davidson Green Miller.
Joe is survived by his wife Terry Miller; a son Joe Eugene Miller II and wife Kimberly of Brazil; a daughter Lucinda Fillenwarth and husband Bernie of Shelbyville, Indiana; 7 grandchildren: Travis Fillenwarth, Sylvia Fillenwarth, Tyler Miller, Kourthey Miller, Pace Miller, Grace Miller and Kash Miller; three great grandchildren: Elly Fillenwarth, Cannon Fillenwarth, Carter Nigh and Crimson Miller as well as several extended family members.
Services will be at French Funeral Home, August 15, 2014 at 1:00pm with Pastor Jacob Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Thursday, from 5-8pm and again Friday from 11am until 1:00.
